Abbey Hill is part of Churches Together in Kenilworth & District (CTK&D) which includes 7 Anglican Churches, 3 Free Churches and 2 Roman Catholic Churches.
We have 2 representatives on the CTK&D committee which meets four times a year to arrange joint initiatives. These include a parade on Good Friday, joint services on special occasions like Christian Aid Week, Women’s World Day of Prayer and the Kenilworth Festival. There is a monthly meeting for the ministers of the Kenilworth Churches. Lent Groups are held at Churches and people’s homes for anyone to attend. Last Christmas all twelve churches joined together for a joint Christmas card, with times of Christmas services, delivered to homes throughout Kenilworth.
A recent interdenominational project is “The King’s Table” which has premises in the main street of Kenilworth. It is run mostly by volunteers, with a few paid staff. On five days a week, it provides refreshments at a reasonable cost and opportunities for prayer and discussion, and is open for two hours on Sunday afternoons. It also sells Fair Trade goods from Traidcraft and Tearcraft.
